Requirements Before You Start
You will need:
- A valid eCitizen account
- Original national ID
- Copy of your birth certificate
- Copy of parents’ ID or death certificate
- Passport photos
- Payment via M-PESA, Airtel Money or debit/credit card
Step-by-Step Application
Step 1: Log in to eCitizen
Visit www.ecitizen.go.ke and sign in. If you do not have an account, click Create Account and follow the prompts.
Step 2: Open the Immigration Services Section
Click Department of Immigration Services → Passport Application.
Step 3: Choose Passport Type
Select the type of passport you want:
- 32-page (KSh 4,550)
- 48-page (KSh 6,050)
- 64-page (KSh 7,550)
Step 4: Fill the Online Form
Enter:
- Full names
- Date of birth
- Place of birth
- ID number
- Occupation
- Next of kin
- Physical address
Step 5: Upload Required Documents
Upload scanned copies of:
- ID
- Birth certificate
